Are there special care instructions for my shell necklaces?

• Yes!  Please do not wear your leather necklaces in water.  Please remove your My Island Addiction LLC jewelry before bathing, swimming, hot yoga class, exercise etc.  And as much as you may love them, please don’t shower with them! 
• Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions or hair products, as this could remove color coating on the leather.

• This shell was personally collected by me, ( it was NOT LIVING when collected ), it was cleaned, sanitized, and coated with a non-allergen, food safe UV, non yellowing clear resin to preserve the shells natural color.   While the shell is sealed to the best of my ability, shells are porous, I cannot guarantee it 100% waterproof.  

• Avoid leaving your necklace sitting in excessive heat.

• Do not pick at the resin coating on the shell, it may cause lifting and peeling of the resin.

• Use a soft cloth to polish. When you are not wearing it, put it in a pouch.

Can I wear my My Island Addiction LLC necklace every day?

• We know you're going to LOVE your necklace and will want to wear it everyday.
• Just like your favorite pair of shoes, or your favorite t-shirt, you should allow your wrap to have periods of non-wear. This will help lengthen the life of your necklace and will keep it looking fabulous for as long as possible.
• As with any natural shell, it is not going to be perfect, and may have tiny holes, or predator holes.   You may even see some tiny bits of coral. This is all normal and fine.

Care suggestions while traveling:

• Use a soft fabric pouch if you don’t have enough room for a jewelry box with a hard exterior.
• Jewelry should be stored in a dry place away from humidity, moisture and extreme temperatures. So if you have jewelry sitting next to your bathroom sink, consider moving it to another room.
